The Quicksilver 625 Pilothouse, the newest boat from Quicksilver in their pilothouse range replaces the outgoing Quicksilver 605 Pilothouse in an all new hull profile with some standout features in a boat of this size, we take a look underneath the coamings to see what makes this such a worthy successor to it’s predecessor.
“strategically cut scalloped forward section ensures good performance and sea-keeping….”
A deep-v hull on this boat with strategically cut scalloped forward section ensures good performance and sea-keeping when the boat is reaching the plane and then ensures that she handles any chop whilst keeping her decks dry as possible making her one of the most driest riding hulls available, also if the mood takes you there is a choice of upgraded colour on the hull to a serene light blue making her really stand out from the crowd.
Designed with deck space at the forefront of the thinking this new model allows you to keep more lines in the water more of the time whilst also doubling as an impromptu overnighter if you want to catch the last or the first of the fish.
“standard extended swim platforms for taking in a dip or landing the biggest fish…”
The forward cabin is eye-catching and modern with a great view through all sides allowing a proper 360 degree view of your surroundings at any one time. Inside the cabin there are large windows and full length glass sliding doors. On the transom there are standard extended swim platforms for taking in a dip or landing the biggest fish.
At the bow you’ll find a deep anchor locker with a powerful optional Quick Windlass for recovering ground tackle quickly and easily using the controls at the helm station.
The hatches on the deck in the cockpit allow access to a fish locker and a decent sized battery compartment with plenty of room to store gear and access to the fuel tank with more room again to store extra equipment, there is a rod holder outboard to starboard and rails on the cockpit floor to help you with balancing your feet in a rolling swell the cockpit is a great place from which to fish.
“The helm is a real command station…”
As is standard practice now across all the Quicksilver Pilothouse fishing range the wheelhouse has been slightly offset to port to allow easier access forward on the side decks when required whilst not compromising the internal volume. Grab rails are strategically positioned to make it easy to move around on the Quicksilver 625.
Inside you will find two high quality bolster seats with an optional infill to make a third occasional seating position, under all the berths there is storage and an option to install a sea-toilet in the forward part of this compartment if needed.
The helm is a real command position, here you can access all of the switches to control the majority of features aboard such as the optional windlasses, trim tabs and more this vantage point give you a real feeling of control whilst providing the view to match, finished in a grey to take the glare away from the helmsman looking at the instruments or charts.
Both sides of the Quicksilver 625 wheelhouse incorporate opening sliding windows and the roof hatch also allows for a strong flow of air on a warm summers day to keep all aboard cool and relaxed.
Forward of the helm station you come to the berth aboard, cleverly designed to make the most of the space with infill panels and extra cushions to expand the area of the seating to a fully fledged berth suitable for two adults to relax and sleep in.
“Equip it with anything from the economical 100hp award winning 150hp engine…”
No question here about the ability of the engine, access to the Mercury outboard range this boat can be equipped with Mercury engines with anything from the economical and smart 100HP outboard engine right up to the powerful and award winning 150HP engine. Decide on your power needs and Mercury will have the engine for you.
A 160L fuel tank means that the Quicksilver 625 can stay all day on the water with you even for repeated drift fishing or reaching far off spots there is plenty of room in the tank, trips whilst the standard SmartCraft instrumentation provides industry leading engine feedback to ensure everything is working as it should and give real time performance data right to the helm which can now be coupled up to the Simrad NSS to give you even more feedback.
This is then a superb fishing machine and a great addition to the increasingly class leading line up in fishing boats offered by Quicksilver. The new design offers a superb mix of comfort, practicality and fishing ability, with a huge array of features and options to really make this boat your own and customise it to your needs and wants, this really is a great boat for the whole family to enjoy.
