Jeanneau Cap Camarat 555 WA (1995)

A small 1995 Jeanneau walkaround, no longer built, with high bulwarks, a central cabin and a 0.3 m draught, for up to 6 people on short coastal outings.

At 5.7 m overall and drawing only 0.3 m, the Cap Camarat 555 WA is a compact walkaround that can get into shallow water most boats her size would avoid. Jeanneau stopped building her some years ago, so this is a boat you'd be looking at second-hand.

What you notice first on board is the height of the bulwark. On a boat where you walk forward along the side decks, that extra height gives you something solid around you, and it's the main reason she feels safe for families with children aboard.

Below, the cabin sits in the middle of the boat. It's set up for the kind of trip you decide on that morning, a night or two somewhere close by, rather than anything more ambitious.

She came out alongside the 615 WA, both following on from the bigger 725 WA, which had done well for Jeanneau. The pair shared a new look: green hulls, teak on the door, dashboard and wheel bracket, slightly wider spacing between the seats, and a handrail on the windscreen that also carries the running light bracket.

The hull itself is 5.6 m long, the tank holds 105 l of fuel, and she's rated for a maximum of 6 people.
