The Jeanneau Sun Fast 3300
A performance racing yacht that handles well with a full crew, two people or just you.
The Sun Fast 3300 is easy to sail single-handed, double-handed or fully crewed, and is as competitive around the cans as it is in transatlantic races. It was designed by Daniel Andrieu and Guillaume Verdier and is built entirely by infusion moulding, which makes the hull strong and stiff and keeps the weight down. A single fin keel and a well-chosen sail area also work in its favour under the IRC handicap rules.
The cockpit is large, so it’s easy to move around, and the sail controls lead back to the helm for single-handed sailing. It’s about five percent faster than the 3200 and just as stable and balanced on technical courses, with a hull designed to go well downwind.
Andrieu has been the naval architect behind the Sun Fast line since the beginning and is an expert in getting the best from the IRC rule. Verdier is known for his America’s Cup and Vendée Globe work, and brings his experience with computational fluid dynamics and finite element analysis, as he did on the 100-foot Comanche and the IMOCA 60 Hugo Boss.
