Jeanneau Sun Fast 26

A former Jeanneau sportboat by Philippe Briand, 7.63 m overall, built for sailors who want a small, stable boat that's quick and fun to sail.
Jeanneau no longer builds the Sun Fast 26, but she remains a lively small boat for anyone who enjoys sailing hard. Philippe Briand drew her with one aim in mind, to make speed the source of the fun.
Her stability comes mostly from her width. A deck beam of 2,97m / 9' 6' gives the crew real leverage when they sit out, and 780 kg/1650 lb of ballast in a bulb keel does the rest. When she heels, twin rudders keep a firm grip on the hull while cutting drag.
The rig was up to date for its time. There's a large-roach mainsail and an asymmetrical spinnaker flown from a bowsprit, which keeps the kite clear of everything so it sets cleanly. Together these let boats of her generation push past the old hull-speed limits. Sail area is 35m2 / 377 ft2, on a waterline of 6,77m / 22' 4' with 1,50m / 4'10' of draught.
Deck gear reflects the same focus, with multiple purchase systems and ball-bearing blocks to make trimming lighter work.
She measures 7.63 m overall, with a 7.49 m hull, and is rated for 5 people. Below are 2 cabins, and she carries 100 l of fresh water and 25 l of fuel.
