Jeanneau Sun Fast 43

Jeanneau Sun Fast 43, photo 1 of 1

A discontinued Jeanneau racer-cruiser on a Daniel Andrieu hull, suited to sailors who want regatta pace without a demanding boat to handle.

Daniel Andrieu drew the hull of the Sun Fast 43, and it proved itself in regattas, doing particularly well around the buoys. Jeanneau has stopped building her, so this is a boat you'd now be looking at as a previous model.

What makes her appealing beyond the racing results is how manageable she is. The steering is light and easy, handling her is straightforward, and she was designed for the open sea rather than only for inshore courses.

Draught is 2.55 m, which gives her real grip on the water but means you'll want to check depths in shallower harbours and anchorages. Length overall is 13.21 m, with a hull length of 12.84 m.

The interior has finely detailed joinery and a layout with a warm, homely character, so she's comfortable whether you're tied up, swinging at anchor or out sailing. She carries 200 l of fuel and 400 l of fresh water, and the maximum number of people is 5.
