Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 30i

Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 30i, photo 1 of 1

A Marc Lombard design Jeanneau no longer builds, the Sun Odyssey 30i is a seaworthy 8.99 m cruiser for couples or small families, with fixed or swing-keel versions.

The Sun Odyssey 30i is a seaworthy cruiser from Marc Lombard's drawing board, and she earned a reputation for sailing well. Jeanneau no longer builds her, so you'll be looking at boats that have already been on the water.

Down below there's standing headroom in every cabin, which is worth a lot on a boat of 8.99 m overall and 8.79 m on the hull. Plenty of small comfortable touches make her easy to live aboard, whether you're tied up in a marina or swinging at anchor.

She was built in more than one version to suit different waters. The fixed keel version draws 1.75 m and has a single rudder. The swing-keel version has twin rudders and can be taken up a beach, which opens up shallow anchorages and drying harbours. Most were steered by tiller, with a wheel available as an option, so it's worth checking which set-up a particular boat has.

Jeanneau designed her around practical, dependable systems and safety, with care for the environment in mind too.
