Obsolete model · Sun Odyssey
A 1998 Jeanneau cruiser, no longer built, with two double cabins, wheel steering and a bright teak saloon, a good fit for a couple or small family.
Under sail the Sun Odyssey 32.2 feels livelier than you might expect from a boat built so firmly around cruising, and her long rudder keeps the helm light even when the breeze picks up. Jeanneau no longer builds her, so you'll be looking at one from around 1998, offered with either a fixed keel or a centreboard with twin rudders.
On deck there's room to move. The side decks are wide, and handrails run 2 meters along the coachroof, so going forward feels safe. The cockpit is generous, with wheel steering, a helm seat on the transom that swings open for getting aboard, and all the control lines brought back to one place.
Below, standing headroom is 1,80 m, which is a lot for a 32 footer. Plenty of portholes and teak joinery make the saloon light and comfortable, and it seats up to 6. The teak chart table faces forward, has good storage and space for electronic displays, and sits neatly in the saloon alongside a practical galley.
She has 2 large double cabins, both well ventilated, and the aft cabin has a porthole looking out through the transom. The head is roomy, with a toilet, a shower and several storage lockers.
She's 9.5 m overall with a 9.3 m hull and draws 1.45 m. Tanks hold 45 l of fuel and 140 l of fresh water.
