Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 51
A 51-foot offshore cruiser from Jeanneau, no longer built, with an open deck layout and up to 6 cabins, suited to crews planning longer passages.
The Sun Odyssey 51 is a previous Jeanneau model, no longer in production, that was designed from the start for offshore cruising. She earned a strong international reputation during her time in the range, and that's a large part of why she's still sought after.
J&J Design worked with Jeanneau on the concept. The deck was laid out entirely open, simple and clear, which was new for a production yacht at the time. Underneath that, she was built with classic materials and proven production methods, and the design pays close attention to how space is divided and how fittings are integrated so she's easy to handle.
Andrew Winch handled the colours and materials, which gives her a distinct character inside and out.
She's 15.35 m overall with a 14.99 m hull and a draught of 1.95 m. There are 6 cabins, room for 8 to 12 people depending on the configuration, and tanks for 460 l of fuel and 900 l of fresh water, which is useful capacity for longer passages.
