The YACHTS.CO team is going to boot Düsseldorf, one of the biggest events in the boating calendar, and if you're planning to be there we'd very much like to meet you. The show takes place at Messe Düsseldorf in Germany, and it draws the international boating community together under one roof.

For anyone who hasn't been, it's a show on a large scale. Builders from across the marine world bring their latest boats, new designs and the ideas that will shape what we see on the water in the seasons ahead. It's a chance to step aboard boats side by side, compare layouts and finishes, and get a feel for things you can't judge from a brochure or a screen.

That's why we go. As a Jeanneau and Delphia dealer, we find it useful to see the ranges in person and talk to the people behind them, so we can give customers honest, first-hand answers. It also lets us look across the wider market, which matters to our brokerage clients as much as to those thinking about a new boat.

If you're looking for your next boat, a show like this is a good place to narrow things down. Walk through a few boats of the size you have in mind and pay attention to the practical details: how easy it is to move around the deck, where you'd stow kit for a week away, how the galley and heads would work with your crew aboard. Sit at the helm and in the cockpit. Write notes as you go, because after a full day the boats start to blur together.

It's also worth thinking about what happens after the show. A boat that looks right on a stand still needs to suit your sailing area, your berth and your plans. That's where a conversation with a dealer helps, whether that's about specification, timing, or what to do with the boat you already own. If you're selling, it's a sensible moment to talk about the market and how to present your boat well.

YACHTS.CO is a family-run boat sales and servicing business, started in Swansea in 2007, with offices in Swansea, Milford Haven, Poole and Corfu. We work very closely with our sister company Euroyachts, the Jeanneau dealer for Scotland, based at Largs and Troon on the Clyde and a yacht brokerage there since 1965. Between us, there's a lot of experience to draw on, and we're happy to share it.

You don't need an appointment to say hello. If you're coming along, we'd love to catch up, answer your questions and talk about what you're hoping to find. Let us know you're going, or get in touch with the team beforehand, and we'll make sure to find time for you.
